Will you make the decision to be healthier - TODAY?
We all know how time flies. The longer you put off getting fit, losing weight or just being healthier, the further you move down the path of unhealthy habits and possibly degenerating health problems and disease you go. For example, if you don’t move, exercise and provide proper stress to your muscles and joints, you could see muscle atrophy (that dreaded flab) or joint degeneration and pain. No one wants to feel unhealthy, to be in pain or to not be able to do the things we want to do. Of course, we all know that there is also weight gain and psychological concerns that come from an unhealthy lifestyle.
So get up and decide now that you will strive to make changes that move you toward health from this point forward. Change your direction and get off that path leading you towards bad health and take that first step towards being healthy.
Starting out on a healthy lifestyle may sound intimidating and overwhelming. However, if you make it your goal by first deciding to be healthy, you will be on your way to reaching your goals. It is a process that is unique to you. Your list of healthy lifestyle actions may be different from others. The most important thing to remember is that you can make changes in your health and well-being outcomes for the future. The secret lies in being mindful of small actions and changes that can affect your health now and down the road of life.
We all know the basic list of a healthy lifestyle.
- Eat for better nutrition
- Drink more water
- Stop doing bad health habits
- Exercise and move more
- Get quality sleep and more of it
You can do something on this list. So choose something you can do today to get started. Don’t do it all at once. Start small and just make one small change a day and commit to do it every day. It’s important that you make the activity easy and enjoyable to do. If it is too hard or disrupts your life too much at first, you make quit too soon. Tell yourself that your health is important enough to do these changes for. Don’t forget to applaud yourself for having the motivation to change your habits for the positive. You may find your peers and family will be cheering you on too!
